New Pixelpop Integration

Guest Author

We’re following up our feature release earlier this month (welcome emails, drip campaigns and an Optinmonster integration) with an awesome new integration for Pixelpop.

Meet Pixelpop

Well-designed and targeted popups and banners are a great way to draw attention to specific things on your website. Whether that’s a new product announcement or a promotion you’re running or whether you just want to grow your mailing list with new leads. These help you increase the engagement and conversion from your website visitors and current customers.

Here at CM Commerce, we really appreciate beautiful, simple-to-use apps. To understand why we like Pixelpop so much, have a look at this screen they show you to create a new popup / banner shortly after signing up:

Looking at that, we just want to click and CREATE ALL THE THE POPUPS. (We are half-joking about that and we definitely caution our customers to not use popups or banners that would create a bad use experience for your customers. Their experience on your website is a decisive factor in whether they will spend money with you.)

Pixelpop currently supports 7 different popups / banners:

  • Email Newsletter Signup – Build mailing lists automatically with email newsletter popups synced to your CM Commerce account.
  • Announcement – Got something to tell your visitors about? Free shipping? A limited-time offer? A special milestone for your store? Make an announcement about it.
  • Page Promotion – Whether it’s a new product, collection, gift guide, or something else, Pixelpop makes it easy to direct traffic to the pages you want to promote.
  • Coupon Code – Having a sale? Create a discount code in your Shopify admin and display it to shoppers with a dedicated coupon code popup.
  • Custom Image – Upload a custom image to Pixelpop and link to any URL. This is super handy if you want to add your own text or styling to a popup.
  • Social Follow – Get more followers on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and Google Plus with a special popup that includes social buttons.
  • Cookie Disclaimer – If you sell to customers in the EU and want to use cookies on your site, you’re legally required to get their permission. There’s a popup for that.

And they have multiple targeting and scheduling options available for these:

  • Exit-Intent Delays – Popup shows after customer moves cursor to leave the page
  • Page Delays – Popup shows after customer has visited certain number of pages
  • Scroll Delays – Popup shows after customer has scrolled to certain part of page
  • Timing Delays – Popup shows after customer has spent certain amount of time on site
  • Scheduling – Schedule popup to appear within specified date range
  • Targeting – Target visitors based on location, page, and UTM parameters

How to use CM Commerce and Pixelpop

The best way to currently use CM Commerce and Pixelpop to optimal effect is to use Pixelpop’s “Email Newsletter Signup” popup to add new subscribers to your Customer Lists in CM Commerce. You can then send them follow-up emails, drip campaigns or send them periodic newsletters.

Why do this? Your goal with this is to turn those subscribers and prospective buyers into customers. Using various types of emails to engage and incentivize them, you will encourage them to make their first purchase.
