Dig the Data, Volume 1
Data! The final frontier. As we fly through our blog space, with product announcements and grand visions, it is clear that there is room for more in the universe. Suddenly, on the horizon, a new feature is spotted: Dig the Data.
At CM Commerce (previously Receiptful), we are humble in our manners, but our data is brutal. It tells us how it is with raw numbers and facts. When data speaks its mind, there is no sugar-coating bad performance statistics or covering up the truth of a poor campaign. Unfortunately, not everyone listens, because data has a language problem: It tries to tell a story with Excel rows when the world wants pretty colors. As the data scientist at CM Commerce, it is my quest to help data become a better storyteller.
Dig the Data is a new, and hopefully recurring, monthly segment where we look at some of our data and visualize it with a graphic or two. In this first segment, we ask: Which country has the best CM Commerce Conversion Rate? And the data answers:

Norway is perhaps best known for its natural beauty, but now they can also claim the title of Top Converter with the CM Commerce tools. Well done!
The data
The visualization was created with receipt and conversion data from a one year period between August 1, 2015 and August 1, 2016 with test receipts removed. In total about 17.5 million receipts.
The country data is based on the shipping countries of the receipts. In order to avoid conversion rate outliers, we removed countries with less than 1000 sent receipts and in this process, a few invalid country names were also filtered away. This brought the total number of receipts down to about 16.5 million across 69 countries.
Here are the rest of the countries on the list beyond the top ten:

What is a CM Commerce Conversion exactly? Well, when a customer interacts with a feature from our app and eventually makes a purchase, that’s a CM Commerce Conversion. A CM Commerce Conversion Rate of 2% thus means: from all the receipts that CM Commerce sent, 2% of those receipts were the result of a sale that was directly influenced by CM Commerce tools.
Want to improve your conversion rates with CM Commerce? It just so happens that we have written an article to help you improve your receipt conversions. Good luck!
And don’t forget our Customer Success team is always ready to help. 🙂
